I've never believed the death penalty should apply now for people who leave Islam. It may have been relevant during the prophets time (for reasons of spy's and treason etc). But for people to still think its relevant today?!
If people are leaving Islam, then we should look to ourselves and look at why they are leaving to begin with.
Still this article gives me hope.
